Which is better skinomi or zagg

I guess. The nicer film ones dont really have most of those issues with the bonus that they themselves can't crack. Ecmaster76 wrote: I guess. I've used Skinomi for years. It can get a little bit of a "dent" but never enough to bother me. I can't stand tempered glass myself-- at least last time I checked, most don't go anywhere nearly close enough to the vulnerable edges of the screen. That said I realize I may also be the exception as I don't use a case either. It's been a while since I checked so that may have changed? I love the tempered glass ones. They've saved my butt a few times on drops.

Plastic ones are ok but they don't absorb the impact as well and can result in a cracked screen under the plastic. The glass ones are designed to shatter when you drop the phone, distributing the energy of the impact through themselves instead of the actual screen.

Plastic ones stretch a bit and let the glass crack underneath, if the impact is bad enough. Plus they get all beat up over time and don't usually have the nice oleophobic coating many glass ones do so they get kind of goopy. The only reason I would not go with a tempered glass screen protector is because IDIOT phone makers insist on putting curved edges on their phones.

Those things are designed to take the brunt of any fall in the display as much as possible so your screen gets ruined faster, generating another new phone sale for them, they hope. Plus they just look stupid with the images all warped at the edges.

But I digress. Anyway, yeah, you can't find many screen protectors for Pixel 4a yet because it was kind of dropped on the market as a bomb with little warning and I would bet they did the same with their channel partners and gave them little time to produce accessories in advance. Give it a few weeks and you might see more. Then again, it has a more or less flat screen from what I have seen, so it may not get many plastic screen protectors.

A good glass one will have better hardness, oleophobic coating and won't get chewed up by keys in your pocket etc. Quote: Anyway, yeah, you can't find many screen protectors for Pixel 4a yet because it was kind of dropped on the market as a bomb with little warning and I would bet they did the same with their channel partners and gave them little time to produce accessories in advance. That's kind of what I'm thinking though I really prefer putting the protector on day 0 I'd think that it manufacturers probably dont need much advance.

The shape of one phone is a bit different than another but its not exactly rocket science. I'm speculating that Skinomi uses JIT manufacturing for their products; they ship direct to customer. I am passably familiar with the Zagg products, some of which installed the same way. They all had a vaguely "sticky" feel to them, and as you said, they can permanently dent. I recall customer sat isfaction with them being fairly low; they were a pain to install, would gather lint and dust on the edges and look gross in a short amount of time, and the finger-feel was off.

Not saying you're wrong for preferring them, of course, but you might be out of sync with the larger market. IQ Shield seems to last considerably longer for me.

I'll definitely give IQ Shield a try if they release one for the 4a Thanks. Quote: I'll update when I get them Still hasn't shipped. Amazon had been schedule to deliver my case on Monday of this week. This is similar material in the fact it won't look all scratched up after a month or 2 of use. I love this when Zagg has nothing available or is out of stock.

Good company. You may remember them from shark tank years ago lol. Gingerbread Feb 4, KitKat Feb 5, Lunatasian , Feb 5, : I personally think that Zagg is overpriced and of poor quality. I'd much rather but a dbrand skin and an actual tempered glass screen protector instead of some piece of plastic.
